Summary:   Discusses the issue of suicide, especially as it relates to young people 15-24 years of age. Provides statistical detail. Outlines the four stages of depression.


Depression is a feeling of sadness, loneliness, and worthlessness that lasts you over two week and keeps you from your activities. Depression is the #1 contributing factor to suicide. Suicide is the taking of ones own life. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Suicide is the third leading cause for death in 15-24 year olds. 8 out of 10 who attempt suicide aren't successful the first time.

People often complete suicide because of stress. Some things that might stress them out are grades, depression, failure, and low self esteem. In the movie Jimmie wanted to complete suicide because he thought he was depressed. He thought he was a failure to his parents. His grades were dropping. He started to cut class. He quit his soccer team.
