Movie Review of 28 Days

Summary: Reviews the film, 28 Days, starring Sandra Bullock. Provides a plot summary. Discusses the issue of substance abuse and describes how major characters deal with it.
Recently in class we watched a film titled "28 Days." This movie is about a this editor, Gwen Cummings, who is an alcoholic and is sentence to go to rehab after driving under the influence and ended up crashing into a house. She was then sentence to 28 days of rehab instead of going to jail. At rehab Gwen is kept away from the things that once led her down a path of self-destruction. She learns what her addiction to alcohol has done to her and her family and she starts to turn her life around. Gwen and some others are also looking to turn their lives around for the better. In the movie, it was said that three out of ten people that go into rehab come out clean and stay clean for the rest of their life.
