Summary: This is a satire about anorexia, it is written in the style that Jonathan Swift wrote "A Modest Proposal."
The fact that starvation occurs in a nation in possession of a surplus of food is a most saddening one indeed. The fact that the starvation is often voluntary is even more mind-boggling - especially to the food producers, who need people to eat in order to stay in business. Self-starvation isn't the only eating disorder people have, either. It is estimated that about 15 percent of young women in America have some type of eating disorder, such as bulimia nervosa (self-induced vomiting after eating), or anorexia nervosa (self-starvation) and a range of other diseases, which include spitting out food after chewing it.

Of course, the anorexic and the bulimic are to be feared. I will describe the typical eating-disordered person for your convenience, so you know who to be wary of:
