Animal Cloning: a Precursor to Perfection?

Summary: This essay argues for human cloning by bringing up specific successes in animal cloning.
Scientific cloning has thrown itself into the spot light and rightly so. The constantly progressing scientific community has proved to the world that this is an issue that will take place within our lives and have an effect on society. Because of such, decisions about the morality and use of cloning must be discussed and implemented. At this juncture, however, the basic questions of cloning are what hold up decision. Is cloning ethical? Can cloning technology be an advantage to humankind? I will argue that cloning can, and should, be used for medical purposes. It has the potential to save hundreds of human lives a year. Cloning would also significantly lower the cost of certain expansive medical procedures. With all the good that this new technology could do, it would be unethical not to implement it.
