Summary:   Thomas Jefferson is a famous American. He is remembered as the third President of the United States of America and the author of the Declaration of Independence. He is one of the most brilliant individuals in history that lived the American Dream. Jefferson was the "of" and "for" the people that rose to from a nobody to a somebody.


Thomas Jefferson is important to American history because of all the things he achieved in his lifetime. More important, Thomas Jefferson is an American and is America.

Thomas Jefferson was "of" the people. He was born in a wooden house that was built by his father. Thomas Jefferson's father was a planter and a slave owner. Jefferson was lucky as a child. The reason is that his family was wealthy enough to hire a family tutor when he was about five years of age. He was so interested in learning that when he was nine years old he was away from home to study. Later, he attended the College of William and Mary where he studied law. He became a law must still continue the family business of plantations.
