Summary: Why Did The leaders At The Versailles Peace Conference Have Different Aims?
The Allied leaders at the Versailles Peace Conference, mainly President Woodrow Wilson of America, Prime Minister Lloyd George From Britain, France's Prime Minister Clemenceau And Prime Minister Orlando from Italy had different aims due to their experience in World War One, and for the interest of their countries.

America joined the war towards the end and suffered the least causalities, slightly over 120,000 deaths compared to Russia's 1.7 million. And furthermore, as the fighting took place in the European continent, the American continent was therefore untouched by world war one. I feel that this contributed to why Woodrow Wilson did not want to punish Germany as badly as France wanted. However, like Lloyd George, he could foretell that a punishment that was too harsh would result in another World War. Wilson came to the peace talks with '14 points', which he hoped would be the basis of the peace talks...
