In January 1933, Hitler was made Chancellor of a government made up of the Nazis combined with the nationalists. But Hitler was not satisfied even though he was Chancellor.

Hitler used a combination of methods to gain power in Germany. Hitler's strong personality and public speaking skills were an important factor as it inspired many Germans and made them believe that Germany could be great again. His propaganda campaign convinced many Germans to support him.

Many Germans had given up on ineffective Weimar Republic which was unable to solve the massive unemployment and inflation. Hitler managed to control these problems by launching many public work programs and removing Jews from key posts. He also introduced conscription in 1935, thus providing thousands of jobs. The was factory also opened up to as Germany rearmed. This also helped to win the support of the army.
