Summary:   This essay talks about flashbacks in the book "Nectar in a Sieve" by Kamala Markandaya.


"Anakin, I feel that someday you are going to be the death of me" (Lucas). This quote from Star Wars: Episode 2 is found especially funny to those who have watched episodes four, five, and six. The second half of the story was created before the first by about thirty years. This type of flashback draws reader or viewers in more thus keeping them interested through the whole story. Another example of this would be Nectar in a Sieve, a book about a woman's struggle in India by Kamala Markandaya. The story is told as a flashback from the eyes of the main character, Rukmani. The story is told this way because it draws the reader in wondering about who, what and which locations the character is talking about in the story before the flashback as.....
