Medieval Weapons

Summary:   Descriptions of many of the common medieval weapons as well as how they were used and any special tactics for which they would be used.


Since the beginning of man, tools have been created to help make tasks easier. As new and harder tasks came about, more tools were invented. This is what happened in the medieval times. As better armor and defense were created, better weapons were needed to pierce the armor and break through the defense (McDowell). Many times, the supply of new technology has been the difference between winning and losing a war. However, the bravery and ability of the knights and soldiers was always the deciding factor (Koch). The history of man has shown the war for newer, better technology. Many of the tools for war were derived from the tools that made everyday tasks easier (Levick 1). The technological advances during the medieval times produced many types of weapons and armor.
