Beauty and the Beast

Summary:   Essay examines the changing perspective in the novel "The Beauty and the Beast" by Fay Brown.


The book "The Beauty And The Beast" by Fay Brown shows how Beauty leaves the Beast, as he nears closer and closer to death she returns to his aid. This text is related to the poem Cockcrow, by Rosemary Dobson. Cockcrow is about a mother, who, through pressures of responsibility for her family is on the verge of leaving them but in the end returns to her dependant family. Similarly, Beauty is on the verge of leaving the Beast forever but returns to his aid.

This story shows how Beauty thought that the Beast was a hideous monster and could not love him. Her perspective of him changed towards the end of the story and she did not care that he was hideous and she loved him and is willing to marry him.
