The Affect of Literature on One's Life

Summary:   Essay describes how works of literature can have an affect on one's life.


I imagine being taken away from daily life and being thrown into a fantasy world. I picture myself being thrown into a story with a fictional character that has a similar background. I fantasize about gaining insights on life from the characters through the incredible plot. Such scenarios are possible just by reading for enlightenment. That is why literature has a major impact on the readers' life. Similarly, The Road Not Taken, The Catcher in the Rye, and The Things They Carried have all greatly affected my life.

In Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken, I interpret the message as uniqueness being what makes life livable. Although I am not able to make all of my decisions on my own, those that I do make on my own are those that make it my life. This.....
