The definition of insanity is such that it can be interpreted in many different ways. In today's modern society, the definition of this word is such that people very commonly mistake another person's "insanity" for something drastically different than it really is. For example, in many capital murder cases today, defendants plead guilty to a murder that they committed but also plead insanity at the same time.
