Lucas Jackson, from the movie Cool Hand Luke, is an example of an anti-hero. He possesses attributes of both the classic hero and the tragic hero, but he is also charismatic, unlucky, and doesn't actually desire to be followed by others. It is obvious that Luke is unlucky from the very outset of the movie, when he is arrested for cutting the heads off parking meters. He brings this bad luck on himself, and this is a characteristic of an anti-hero. But when he gets to the prison camp, the other inmates are almost immediately drawn to him as a leader. In the fight with Dragline, he refuses to give up even though he is obviously beaten, and this causes the other men to become very interested in him.
