The adoptive citizens had effects on jobs in the United States. Those born in America believed and accused the immigrants of stealing their jobs and leaving many native Americans jobless. But the truth is that the jobs taken by the immigrants were low paying ones. These were the only jobs available for them because native workers refused to work for such low pay and since most immigrants didn't know the American language and since most weren't educated, they decided to take any job.
