Have you ever read a book in which the character had so much personality, that you could actually see a drastic change in him/her? Well, in "Always Running" by Luis Rodriguez, the main character, Luis, faces many conflicts. Set in East Los Angeles, in the early to mid 80's, Luis becomes a veteran of gang warfare. One conflict includes Luis joining a gang leaving him with many friends, but even more enemies. Also, throughout the book, Luis gets into jail a few times; he is a gangster that doesn't think his life is important. Then, through the help of his teachers, music, and other mentors, Luis finds a new path of life. He tries to succeed in his academic life and does a well job. He becomes involved in a Mexican Organization and eventually starts.....
