Born on March 2, 1931, Mikhail Sereevich Gorbachev is recognized as one of the most intellectual, self-confident, and idealistic man of his time. His famous liberalization slogans of perestroika "restructuring" and glasnost "openness" have significantly changed the Soviet Union politically, socially, and economically.
