Luis Rodriguez: From Struggle to Triumph

Summary:   Essay is about Luis Rodriguez and his autobiography entitled "Always Running." It deals with his struggles and how he became what he is today.


By struggling through conflicts, Luis Rodriguez has changed for the better. Luis has experienced la vida loca ( the crazy life ). He was also familiar with many other bad influences like drugs, gang warfare, and jail time. However, Luis was able to steer clear out of his crazy life. He came out of it through becoming active in school and continuing to write. Many times when people have to struggle for what they want they are more appreciative towards hard work.

At age 12, Luis was familiar with la vida loca. His crazy life revolved around East L.A.'s gangs and all the violence they brought into a life. For example at 15 years old Luis was active in the Las Lomas ( the hills ) gang. His initiation into Las Lomas involved him getting beat up.....
