Summary: A deconstruction essay of the poem "Timber" by Kate Filson.
"Timber" by Kate Filson is a poem about a tree but not just any tree,it is an imence,glorious tree that is appreciated by both the physical and natural environments. Many issues are mentioned in the poem such as, imprisonment,connectiions with nature,millenia,changing of the seasons,effects of natural hazards and the impact of human destruction.

The idea of imprisonment comes accross in the first section of the poem through personificatio,metaphors,repetition,and comparison. These techniques work very effectively as they refer to the tree as a person and they compare the tree to a prisoner when it is said that there are "Chains of iron all about him." The repitition in the second line of the poem inforces that there are many men with alot of cattle. The metaphor "The sighing bush" makes the readers aware of the communication that the tree shares...
