Summary:   A basic description of Franz Boas and the relation to today's society


Franz Boas

Franz boas was one of the founding fathers of anthropology in North America. He studied through the First and Second World War when there was a rise in Ant-Semitism across Europe and the rest of the world. During this time he spent his time studying humans and various races. He looked at how the different races were tied together and what everyone had in common. Franz believed that "No truly pure race exists, and that no race is innately superior to any other." Due to his firm belief in his theory he spoke out strongly against the acts against the Jewish people. He spoke out not only because he was Jewish himself, but because he thought that all races stemmed from the same race, and therefore, no race is superior to any other. Basic things.....
