Summary: The theme of religion in the book Bless Me Ultima
In the book Bless Me Ultima, Antonio Marez is a young boy who is trapped between the conflicting religious beliefs of his mother, a Luna and a `devout Catholic'; and his father, a Marez and a vaquero with an insatiable urge to roam. It is his mother's dream for Antonio to some day become a priest, the most respected and powerful man in the Catholic religion. As hard as Antonio tries to believe and honor the only God he has been brought up to know, he finds himself questioning the workings of this God many times throughout the novel.
