Summary:   It's about the connection between man and the land in The Grapes of Wrath


Throughout history man has waged war after war over one of the biggest things we as humans take for granted: Land. It is said that "He who controls the gold, controls the power" and of course, gold comes from our mother earth and her prosperous land. So maybe it should be "He who controls the land controls the power."

In the novel "The Grapes of Wrath", the land is the mother and center of all life. Throughout the novel the connection between the land and the people who make it prosperous is one that is very strong. An example of this connection between man and his land is made very clear at the beginning of the story during a conversation between representatives from the bank and the tenants. On page forty-three, the man argues;
