Not only did the company tax to make up for the loss of money, but canceled the Massachutes charter, closed the Boston harbor and allowed the Quartering Act. Colonists wrote pamphlets and editorials to criticize the acts of the British Government. Colonists Leaders organize a complete boycott of British goods in the colonies. There wasn't strong support of to boycott; Merchants didn't want to lose money. There was a movement for gathering representatives from each colony to discuss the abuse of colonial rights.
The continental congress discussed their abused rights and set resolutions to king George 3rd, but the king refused. He sent troops to Boston and Paul Revere's ride took placed. The Battle Of Lexington and Concord took place. These events lead up to the Declaration of Independence, which declared our independence from England. Eventually the Revolutionary War took place and created the independent country we live in today.
