There were many battles in the Civil War. In any major war there are key battles, which greatly influenced the outcome of the struggle. There were literally hundreds of battles and skirmishes within the U.S. Civil War of 1861-1865. Here is a list of the most important of the battles: the 1st battle of bull run, Shiloh, the 2nd battle of bull run, Antietam, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Sherman's march to the sea, and Appomattox.In the following paper I am going to discuss the participants, the out comes, and the consequences of each battle.
