Summary:   This essay will analyze the major social, political, and technological changes that took place in European warfare between 1789 and 1918.


The time period between 1789 and 1918 had two major military encounters: the French revolution and World War I, the Great War. The French revolution was a time of great political confusion and social corruption. World War I, which was entered with extreme amounts of optimism, turned into a war of mass casualties and great opposition from the people. The major social changes during this time period can be highlighted by the rising of the peasantry during the French Revolution as well as the power entrusted and gained by women during World War I; politically the French Revolution saw a complete revamp of the government from a somewhat autocratic government to a constitutional democracy, while World War I saw the total mobilization of countries, as well as war governments; technologically, the time period between the French.....
