Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold retells the story of a young girl, Susie Salmon from her point of view while in heaven. Susie is murdered at age 14 by a nearby neighbor, Mr. Harvey and begins the book describing the process of her murder. Susie lives with her sister, Lindsey, young brother, Buckley, mom, and dad. She walks home from school everyday through a cornfield to her house and on December 6, 1973 encounters her murderer. She follows him to his "secret hole" where he proceeds to rape her and then chop her into pieces. Once her family hears of her disappearance, they send out searches and it is finally concluded that Susie is dead. Her family hires an investigator of which her mother later on has an affair with. At school, her sister is known.....
