Summary:   The love shown from Hester Prynne and the love shown from Jesus is identical.


The Scarlet Letter, a novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, talks about a committement shown to not injure another person's life; a commitment that is above all sacrificial, a sacrifice for the sake of others, even when others may hate you. Even when knowing that in order to maintain this commitment, you must bear a symbol of disgrace and shame, it is a sacrifice for others so that others won't be hurt. Hester Prynne showed this commitment, because she loved a man, and like Christ, she showed a dedication to not affect people because of her mistakes in the past. Love bears all things, believes all things, always hopes, endures all things, and it never fails (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)
