George Bernard Shaw

On the night of July 26, 1856 one of the best writers in history, George Bernard Shaw, was born in Dublin, Ireland. He lived with his lower middle class parents, George Carr Shaw and Lucinda Elizabeth Shaw. His father owned an unfortunate corn milling business and his mother, who did not marry for love, was the daughter of a widowed landowner (Coolidge). George Bernard Shaw had a terrible childhood. His father managed his money poorly, thus spending all of his earnings on his alcohol addiction. Young Shaw and his two older sisters, Lucy Carr Shaw and Eleanor Agnes Shaw, grew up in something close to refined poverty in an unfashionable part of Dublin. It seems that Lucinda Elizabeth showed no love for any of her children. During this time, house servants were rather cheap.....
