The Field of Medicine: Diverse and Lucrative.

Have you ever thought what it takes to become a physician or why everybody who graduates from college isn't a doctor? Becoming a physician isn't as easy as other careers like becoming an engineer or an architect. It takes years of education and hard work thus making it such a rewarding job. There are also a variety of jobs that are associated with becoming a physician. A physician can choose to specialize in one of many different medical specialties.

According to the Encyclopedia of Careers and Vocational Guidance, "a physician diagnoses, prescribes medicines for, and otherwise treats diseases and disorders of the human body, a physician may also perform surgery" (Cosgrove, pg. 114).
