Civilization

Summary:   My essay evaluates the early civilzations of Mesopotamia and Egypt.


A civilization is a complex culture that is made up of complex institutions, advanced cities, a record keeping system, advanced technology, and specialized workers. Mesopotamia and Egypt were the locations of early civilizations. The geography of Mesopotamia and Egypt are unique in that they have a water supply with is the essential part of living. Mesopotamia had the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Egypt has the Nile River, the longest river, and only one that runs from South to North.

Mesopotamia is the Greek word meaning 'between the rivers'. The Mesopotamian civilization had one of the earliest urban civilizations. What attracted the neighbors to Mesopotamia is the rich soil of the area. Since there was a supply of water from 2 rivers, the area had Fertile Crescent, and crop was very easy to grow.
