Summary: My essay discuss' Feudalism in Japan and in Europe.
Feudalism is a social class system that was between the serfs and the nobles. The serfs promised loyalty and labor to the nobles, and the nobles promised shelter, food, and protection in return. Feudalism existed in Medieval Europe and in Medieval Japan. In the Middle ages Feudalism developed in response to the lack of the central government, so life and property would be protected. The feudal class system consisted of the king on top followed by the high lords, lesser lords, Knights, and then at the bottom, the serfs.

Political impacts on the serfs of Feudal Japan and Feudal Europe were similar. The noble had all the political powers on the feudal manor. He made laws (decentralized government). He also established punishments, so that justice would be served on his feudal manor. Feudal ideas were important to the political development of the western civilization.
