Summary: Analysis of the character Hagar from the work Stone Angel.
In the novel Stone Angel the main character Hagar is quite confused. She is living in a dream world and is completely oblivious of what is actually going on around her. This is evident in her treatment of her sons; she has herself convinced one son is "evil." This is also shown in her determination to take care of herself, although she is so clearly incapable. Finally, it is seen in the way she makes herself out to be better then everyone else. If Hagar took time to really look at the world around her she would see things for what they actually are. Although this never seems to occur and Hagar continues to live in her own version of reality.
