Stone Angel

Summary:   Analysis of the character Hagar from the work Stone Angel.


In the novel Stone Angel the main character Hagar is quite confused. She isliving in a dream world and is completely oblivious of what is actually going onaround her. This is evident in her treatment of her sons; she has herselfconvinced one son is "evil." This is also shown in her determination to takecare of herself, although she is so clearly incapable. Finally, it is seen inthe way she makes herself out to be better then everyone else. If Hagar tooktime to really look at the world around her she would see things for what theyactually are. Although this never seems to occur and Hagar continues to live inher own version of reality.
