Editorial Analysis on Bioterror

Summary:   The essay is an editorial analysis on restriction in the science community due to risk of bioterror.


With the human genome already decoded, science is at the height of its ingenuity. Everyday, millions of scientists worldwide are working to find cure for varies illnesses and diseases. Some have changed the course of human evolution through their discovery, and reformed the world. However, even with their endless contribution to the humanity, the science community are now more restricted than ever with their research. With the new conflict in the Middle East and immense concerns for biological terrorists, scientists are taken a hard blow by constraining their freedom of exploration. In a BBC article, a scientist and a US international security policy expert John Steinbruner quoted that, "Hundreds of millions" of people could be at risk of bioterrorist attacks if scientists are not "policed", an expert has warned."
