Capital punishment is not a new concept. It has been around since the time of the first idea of the of a society government way before Jesus's time. The connection between Romeo and Juliet relates to the death penalty, because in the play, Romeo was being penalized for killing Tybalt in revenge for Mercutio's death. The Prince of Verona did not put Romeo to death because he acted out the law for revenge for his friends death, otherwise he would have been put to death.
