Toni Morrison is a black American writer. She was born on February 18, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio her Christian name was Chloe Anthony Wofford. She grew up during the great depression. Toni was the only child in her first grade class able to read. Toni was given honorary degrees from more than fifteen universities. Toni won the Nobel prizein 1993 for liturature she was the only African American to do so. When Toni entered Howard university, and became interested in the drama group. In 1953 she graduated from Howard and received an M.A. degree from Cornell university in 1955. She continuously thought at Texas southern universities in the times of 1955 to 1957.then she thought at Howard university. While Toni was at hoard she met Harold Morrison she married him had two kids and then they go a divorce in 1964. While she was teaching at Howard she began writing fiction. She wrote seven novels all together that I now of. When she quit teaching she started writing. That's when she started to writer her first novel The bluest Eyes (a story of a young girls desire to have the bluest eyes) in 1970, then she wrote her second novel Sula (is a story of the bond between two black women growing up in medallion, Ohio) in 1973, her third novel was Song of Solomon in 1977, she wrote her fourth novel Tar Baby ( it was a love story out in the west Indies) in 1981, she also wrote a fifth novel Beloved (a former slave kills her daughter rather than allow the child to experience slavery, and then is haunted by the child's sprite) in 1987, it was Pulitzer in 1988, then she wrote her seventh novel Jazz and a collection of essays, Playing in the Dark; Whiteness and the Literary Imagination in 1992. Was in1998 it was Paradise. Toni received awards for Song of Solomon it won the national book critics circle award and Beloved it was awarded a Pulitzer Prize.
