Byzantine Empire

Summary:   A paper on the Byzantine empire as if Muslims had taken control of Russia.

I think that if the Muslims had taken over Russia and the Byzantine Empire the world would be very different. There would be many changes with society, politics, and economics. If they took over Russia and the Byzantine Empire, there may have been no terrorist attacks. If they had conquered Russia the outcome of the world wars may have been different also. If they didn't attack other cities, their cities would have been much nicer.

First, if the Muslims took over Russia and the Byzantine, our lives might be changed socially. If they did conquer Russia we might be living under control of the Nazi's, because when Russia was attacked by the Nazi's they wouldn't have been as strong because they wouldn't have fully recovered from the attacks from the Muslims. Russia would be just another conquered battleground to the rest of the world. The Muslims wouldn't have been able to control that much land, just the rebels/anarchists would over run much of the country. And if that did happen we probably wouldn't have been attacked on September 11th, because they Islamic people would have had so much land to share and govern/control with everyone else, that they just wouldn't be able to put any effort into over sea attacks.

Second, as for the economy, it would be more bumpy... more up and then more down. The reason why is because wars would probably break out between current day Germany and what would be Russia if the Muslims took over. There would just be too much land between Russia and the Byzantine Empire. The nice cities (Constantinople and Moscow) that they would have taken over would just get destroyed, because they wouldn't be able to manage them due to lack of leadership and money. Plus even if they could it would still cause problems in society, because there would be too many ethnicities and not everyone would be able to live together.

Lastly, politics would be changed quite a bit. In Europe there may have been different religious groups and leaders. There might even have been a whole different government system. Europe could have been really major affected if the Muslims were to take over Russia and Byzantine Empire. They may have even needed two or three leaders instead of just one being advised by boyars. Then if they did have that many leaders they may have disagreed on some topics and they may have went to war with themselves... creating probably one of the largest civil wars ever.

I can see that Europe would be very affected by the Muslims taking over Russia and the Byzantine Empire, but I don't think my life would have been changed by it, because I live so far away from Europe. Although September 11 may have changed and so may have the world wars, so in some ways I may have been affected. For example if the Germans had taken over Russia then they would have been that much stronger, therefore we may have lost the war. Plus if they didn't successfully conquer the land, they may have been destroyed themselves. So in conclusion I believe my life would be changed quite a bit, but not as much as those in Europe.
