Summary:   This essay will explain the life of the most successful gangsters in American culture, Al Capone.


When you think of mobster, the first name that would probably come to mind would be Al Capone. The question is why. To answer that question, you must first learn and understand who Alphonse "Scarface" Capone was. Al Capone was a funny character to figure out, but all there was to this funny man was a reputation that was just a huge rollercoaster from beginning to end.

In Brooklyn, NY on January 17, 1899, Alphonse Capone was born. His parents were Gabriel and Teresa Capone (formally Caponi). As an early teenager, Capone left school to unite with a street gang ("Alphonse" 1). He entered in the James Street Gang. In that gang, he and Johnny Torrio grew close together. Torrio was the gang leader. Capone and Torrio stayed friends for life. Later on, the Five Points Gang,.....
