The short story Usher II uses themes of irony and vengeance, as well as, classic literature to explore the consequence of blind censorship. Usher II is featured in The Martian Chronicles, Ray Bradbury's "best known work and in many ways his finest achievement" (Mogen 82). In The Martian Chronicles, "Usher II" takes place several years after the colonization of Mars has begun and humans almost have a complete society on Mars. In this story, on earth there is an agency referred to as the "moral climate people" and the agency's primary objective is to try and enforce their idea of what a moral.....
