Summary: This essay is about Thomas Lux's poem "The people of the Other Village."
In the poem "The People of the other Village" there is one reoccurring theme, this is, the brutal and horrible ways people of different backgrounds and cultures treat each other and the overall hatred mankind exhibits towards its self. People of different cultures and backgrounds have trouble admitting the other culture is "just as good" or equal as there own. Thomas Lux talks about people from different parts of the world as "people of the other village" throughout the poem there is an on and off cause and affect happening between the people of the two "villages." One village will demonstrate an act of violence and the other village will retaliate. I also think that through out the poem Lux, is trying to exhibit the passage of time.
