Marìa was always a shy girl. She was brought up in a very strict Hispanic home with traditional Catholic values. Because of this, she was extremely introverted and not very popular. However, she did have a small group of friends with whom she was never without. They had been friends since they met at St. Stephen's Church in first grade, and had continued their friendship all the way through high school. Now, however, her friends were going off to college, but Marìa was not. Not because of her grades (she was always a top student), but because her parents could not afford to send her. They owned a small taco shop, and needed Marìa to help them run it. Marìa was crestfallen, but she knew that it wasn't her parents' fault, and, as always, hid her.....
