Harmful Effects of Pesticides

Summary: This is a research paper about the harmful effects of pesticides. Pesticides, however, could easily be replaced by alternative methods.  Although pesticides were thought of as a victory over pest control, research has shown that these chemicals endanger lives, have harmful side effects, and, therefore, need to be banned.    
Because of the growing population, farmers are forced to produce more food in order to support the growing needs of the people. As a result farmers use pesticides, to control pest populations. Instead of discontinuing their uses when the pesticides prove ineffective, they increase the applications or rely upon new and stronger chemicals. Many of these chemicals that are registered lack any testing, which leads to their deadly effects on living organisms. Pesticides, however, could easily be replaced by alternative methods. Although pesticides were thought of as a victory over pest control, research has shown that these chemicals endanger lives, have harmful side effects, and, therefore, need to be banned.
