Summary: Notes on "The Life of Pi"
Theme

-I found that the first theme in "Life of Pi" is happiness
-Through out the book it is a progression of Pi Patel's life
-While he is a boy living in India he is very happy and content growing up around animals in the zoo
-As the book progresses the theme of the book changes dramatically to more of fear
-This is when he and his family are on the boat coming to Canada and the boat sinks and he has to fight for his life
-Then the theme changes gain where he feels that he must be worried until he agrees to a truce with Richard Parker who is a Bengal tiger
-The theme changes one last time in the book to fear again when they discover the man eating island and he questions Richard's loyalty to him at this time and when they are fighting...
