Summary:  

Notes on "The Life of Pi"

Theme

-I found that the first theme in "Life of Pi" is happiness
-Through out the book it is a progression of Pi Patel's life
-While he is a boy living in India he is very happy and content growing up around animals in the zoo
-As the book progresses the theme of the book changes dramatically to more of fear
-This is when he and his family are on the boat coming to Canada and the boat sinks and he has to fight for his life
-Then the theme changes gain where he feels that he must be worried until he agrees to a truce with Richard Parker who is a Bengal tiger
-The theme changes one last time in the book to fear again when they discover the man eating island and he questions Richard's loyalty to him at this time.....
