Summary: My essay is about my experience of participating in Salkehatchie.
In the summer of 2002, June 22-28, I participated in a Methodist Church camp called Salkehatchie. This was a very meaningful experience for me since it was my first year to go. Our church youth group left on June 22 heading to Union, SC. A beautiful day unfolded--the sky was baby blue and the warm sun was blazing.

Nine of us loaded up the bus and left. When we got to Union High School, where we were staying, we took our bags into the cafeteria where all the girls would be sleeping. After we settled in everyone went to view the sites (houses) where we would be working. I rode in a white and red van along with my sister.
