The Real Adventure of War

Summary:   A thesis essay based on the idea that men and women who joined the military looking for an adventure were just going to find death, using the book "All Quiet On the Western Front" written by Erich Maria Remarque, and the two movies "Full Metal Jacket" and "Gallipoli".


The Real Adventure of War

When young men and women go out in search of an adventure, what is the first thing that comes to mind?  The first that comes to mind is going to war.  It doesn't just help you to become a better person, but you serve your country as well.  War gave young people a reason to leave home and see the world.  In other words, a reason to go out on an adventure and do something risky for once.  Most of these kids were right out of high school and they just wanted to get away from home.  Little did they know war is not just an adventure but a death sentence.

There are always casualties in a war.  People must die in order for one country to prevail.  For example in the book.....
