"A Journey within the Misunderstood"

Although many of its skeptics might call it rank superstition, Voodoo is in fact a religion. For the most part a myriad of misunderstandings provided by an assortment of ghastly B-movies stereotyped the religion to bring up images of black magic and sorcery. However, Hollywood seemed to have forgotten that the practice of Voodoo has lived longer than many religions including Christianity and roughly seven million people practice it today (no precise counts are available since many worship in secrecy), many of which worship along with another religion (Turlington 56). Unlike the vague and pagan demonstrations viewed by the uneducated public, the world of Voodoo is like a "world within a cosmic mirror, peopled by the immortal reflections of all those who had ever confronted it" (Zengerle).
