Summary: The essay is about the start of colonization in America.
Many changes took place during the 1500s in England. The changes that had the most impact on people had to do with the government. These changes were so dramatic that they brought a desire by many for the English people to start settlements in North America. In the late 1500s a ship sailed over from England. Aboard this ship were Walter Raleigh and his brother, Sir Humphrey Gilbert. This day was the start of colonization in America.

There were three types of colonies in America. The New England colonies were founded in the mid 1600s. Over all the people who settled in the New England colonies were those who wanted religious freedom. The New England colonies felt that slaves were sinister.
