Summary:   The effects of Watergate on America


Even today there are several famous hotels throughout our country. During the time of the early 1970's one of the most finest hotels was known as The Watergate Hotel. Today this hotel is home to former Senator Bob Dole and once was the place where Monica Lewinsky stayed.

Located near the Watergate Hotel you could find the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. The Watergate scandal began June 17th, 1972. Early that morning police discoveredfive intruders; Bernard Barker, Virgilio onzalez, Frank Sturgis, Eugenio Martinez and JamesMcCord. The intruders were discovered inside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. The Watergate burglars broke into the Democratic Party's National Committee offices in order to adjust bugging devices which they had installed at an earlier break-in and to photograph the Democrats Documents.
