Hiroshima
There were six main people that survived the blast made by the atomic bomb, Hiroshima. They were: Miss Toshiko Sasaki, a personal clerk at the East Asia Tin Works factory, Dr. Masakazu Fujii, a middle-aged physician, Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura, a tailor's widow with three children, Father Wilhelm Kleinsorge, a missionary priest, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young surgeon that worked at the Hiroshima Red Cross Hospital without a permit, and Reverend Kiyoshi Tanimoto, a hardworking pastor.
After the atomic bomb hit, Reverend Tanimoto ran to a hill and saw that the whole city of Hiroshima was filled with smoke. He found his family and began helping people in Asano Park, a designated evacuation area. Mrs. Nakamura found her children and left her destroyed home to go to Asano Park, and later went to her sister-in-law's house.
