Good Men Do Nothing in Lord of the Flies

Summary: How in William Golding's novel, Lord of the Flies, the character Ralph helps to prove a quote stated by Edmund Burke.
Edmund Burke once stated, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." This quote pertains to everyday life very well.  The quote is true in many ways and it relates to Ralph's struggle against Jack in William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies. Lord of the Flies was published in the year 1954 and it is a well written book which contains many allusions to Christ. Fighting evil doesn't always prevail, but that doesn't mean the efforts were in vain.
